Katy Perry tops Taylor Swift (by $55M) in female top-earners list

Taylor Swift may have gotten all the glory this year, but rival Katy Perry got more of the money, saysForbes magazine.
Not that Swift, 25, ended up destitute, of course. She earned $80 million between June 2014 and June 2015, according to Forbes' calculations, released Wednesday.
But Perry, 31, took in $135 million, thanks to a world tour, a slew of hits and lucrative deals with major companies happy to hand over millions for Perry's endorsements of their products, the magazine says.
Formerly pals, now turned frenemies, Perry and Swift have had their disagreementsthis year. But Perry has been making more waves lately as one of Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton's most public celebrity supporters.
Her empowerment anthem, Roar, is one of Clinton's campaign songs. Last month, Perry performed for her at a patriotically-themed youth-vote rally in Iowa. She even took over Clinton's Instagram account to declare her fandom and urge young people to vote.
I am proud of my position as a boss, as a person that runs my own company,”Forbes quoted Perry as saying in its Celebrity 100 cover story this summer. “I’m an entrepreneur. … I don’t want to shy away from it. I actually want to kind of grab it by the (horns).”
Swift is not hurting. Her tour around best-selling album 1989 is grossing so much (about $4 million per city), that Forbes predicts she's "got the early edge for the No. 1 spot on our list next year."Swift, who was in Singapore Thursday, tweeted her congratulations to winners at the Country Music Awards Wednesday in Nashville.
